FUN RUN 2018

GREAT MIDLANDS FUN RUN 2018

What a great day! The sun shone and everyone seemed to be having a really good time. I might be wrong, but I got the impression that the lead runners were quicker this year. I know it's not the object of the day, but it's just a thought.
The biggest cheer of the day, at the finish line, was for Sarah McMahon, who, as she does every year, got out of her wheelchair and with the aid of Kevin and her father walked the last one hundred meters to the finish line.
Our Champion Ambassador, Kevin Brown, told us before the run that he was aiming to do it in about three hours, but he actually came home in about two and a half hours. Well done Kevin. Then being a glutton for punishment, he raced over to Nuneaton, to compete in a seniors athletics competition, to defend his discus title. He was successful, bringing back a gold medal. I'm worn out just thinking about it!!
The Boys Brigade did us proud, putting up a good sized team. Lots of other people ran as individuals. So a big thank you to everybody who took part to raise money for us. You all know that we spend it wisely and like you, are all unpaid volunteers.

There are going to be a lot of photos in the gallery. We have now resolved the technical problems and will load them soon.
